FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI PELAKSANAAN INISIASI MENYUSUI DINI

Abstract
Background: Early breastfeeding initiation (IMD) is giving breast milk immediately after the baby born by place the baby on the mother's stomach for 30 minutes to 1 hour after birth with the aim of skin-to-skin contact so that the mother and baby are calmer, increase affection, reduce postpartum bleeding, reduce anemia and the formation of colonies on the baby's skin and intestines after the baby swallows good bacteria on the mother's skin as a defense for the baby. SSGI reported that there was an increase in the percentage of IMD implementation, from 47,4% in 2021 to 58.1% in 2022. Objective: To determine the factors that influence the implementation of early initiation breastfeeding (IMD) in mothers giving birth at PMB Fauziah Hatta, Palembang. Method: A survey analytic design with cross sectional design was used in this study. The sample of this study were 86 mothers giving birth at PMB Fauziah Hatta who were taken by purposive sampling. This study carried in July – October 2023. Results: There is a significant relationship between maternal age (p-value: 0.019), parity (p-value: 0.006), knowledge (p-value: 0.028), and health workers support (p-value: 0.005) with the implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation (IMD) in mothers giving birth. The variable of health workers support is the most dominant variable related to the implementation of IMD with OR. 5.612. Conclusion: The implementation of IMD is related to maternal age, parity, knowledge, and support health workers. Suggestion: Increase health promotion and counseling on the implementation of early breastfeeding initiation to increase exclusive breastfeeding.
